This is because children’s scalp is more delicate and they should not therefore use stiff clips and other hair accessories that can be harmful for their hair and hurt them when they are playing. Kids hair accessories are made specifically with children in mind, so these should be used for children.

If your hair is long and thick, it is a bad idea to wear hair accessories such as headbands that pull hair away from your face, only to release it and have it stream out in a halo. These kinds of hair accessories can be worn if your hair is thin, but they should not be worn if your hair is very thick.
